Why do I find N/A, 0, or Blank when I expect a value?

Our data suppliers send us the latest data as supplied by companies through their published financial reports. A fundamental field is left blank if a company does not report a number. If the company reports a 0, it may mean the value is actually 0, or the company reported a 0 instead of leaving the field blank. We cannot control what companies report.

N/A will appear if the data field is not relevant to the symbol. For instance, there will be an N/A for Sector, Industry or Revenue. This is because Market Indexes don't belong to any Industry or Sector and there is no Revenue to report.

Market Alert Pro has no control over what individual companies report or what the data vendor includes or excludes. We do our best to provide complete data. However, typically the data is more complete for higher-ranking stocks. Also, companies report quarterly, six monthly or annually. Therefore, while we update our data everyday, reports will be as old as the last reporting date for each company.

Stocks in the S&P 500 (USA) and higher, All Ordinaries (Australia) and higher, or TSX Composite (Canada) and higher are more likely to have complete fundamental data than lower-ranked stocks.
